January/February 2014 Issue

The January/February 2014 issue is in the mail and starting to show up in member’s mailboxes. This issue continues our Sesquicentennial series with an article from Egon Richard Tausch titled The American Dream: North and South. Plus, the first information on the 2014 Reunion and the Sam Davis Youth Camps. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

November/December 2013 Issue

Our November/December 2013 edition is at the printer. The cover features the Confederate Christmas tree in the foyer at Elm Springs. Our feature article is a continuation of our Sesquicentennial series titled Reflections on Energy, Technology, and The Lost Cause by Compatriot H.V. Traywick, Jr. We also have an article on the efforts of a camp presenting the H.L. Hunley Jr. ROTC Award, plus there is a new SCV race care back on the track! All of our usual features are included too! Please keep sending in your camp news photos and letters to the editor.

September/October 2013 Issue

Our September/October 2013 issue is at the printer and features the General Stephen Dill Lee statue at Vicksburg on the cover! Fifteen Months in Fort Delaware is the Sesquicentennial article by returning author Karen Stokes. Unfortunately, we have a report on the passing of Texas' last Real Son along with several interesting stories. Plus, all of the usual features!

July/August 2013 Issue

The July/August 2013 Confederate Veteran magazine is at the printer. Our Sesquicentennial article is Nathan Bedford Forrest and the Ku Klux Klan by Dr. Michael Bradley. Dr. Bradley also shares with our readers an excellent article on the martyrdom of Sam Davis, Boy Hero of the Confederacy. Plus, all of our usual features.

May/June 2013 Update

I received my issue of the May/June 2013 Confederate Veteran today, April 29. If you’ve not received your copy yet, you should any day now. Please keep sending in your camp news and letters to the editor!

May/June 2013 Issue

The May/June 2013 issue has been sent to the printer. Updated Vicksburg Reunion info is included along with the proposed constitution amendments and standing orders. Our Sesquicentennial series continues with an essay by Ryan S. Walters entitled The Powers of a Usurper, Northern Opposition to Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Dr. Michael Bradley shares an article on Dr. Rufus Benjamin Weaver who worked tirelessly to return Confederate bodies in Gettysburg back home. Of course, all of our usual features.

March/April 2013 Issue

The March/April 2013 issue is in the mail and you should be receiving it shortly. Updated information for our annual National Reunion is included as well as information and a registration form for this summer’s Sam Davis Youth Camps. Marshall DeRosa contributes the Sesquicentennial series article titled The Rationalization of American Militaristic Imperialism. Subtitled A Case Study of President Lincoln’s War on the Confederacy, this essay digs deep into the history of our country showing the relationship of our War for Independence with the Spanish American War and WWI. I think you will find it interesting and informative. Plus all of our usual features are included.
